Meike Schalk

My research expertise is in urban and architecture history and theory, gender studies, visual cultures, landscape and planning theory. I teach graduate and postgraduate students in design studios and theory courses whose themes are inspired by my own architectural and public art practice. They focus on critical and non-normative practices of public space; participative and collective approaches in design and planning, and ultimately on the inquiry of spatial power relations.
